The most exciting part of this day is going back to the other areas that were cleared and seeing the spontaneous regeneration of ferns and the life given to the trees that were being over-run by the shade of their invasive rivals. Today we found a well established Neoitsea dealdata , Breynia obllogifolio and a Litsea australia. There were several blue butterflies conducting lyrical dances in couples all around us. The day was mostly spent on clearing the Findersia brayleyana, Fraxinus griffithii, and the usual camphor laurel, privet and lantana. Jono Batemen, Ben Sakamoto and I discussed the nomenclature of plant taxonomy and their greek or latin roots for recreation while we worked below and above the subjects themselves.
